Thank you for visiting AMIDEAST for TOEFL iBT. Please note that AMIDEAST doesn't administer the iBT TOEFL exam and it does not own a test center in Iraq. However, AMIDEAST staff will be able to register your name for one of the available test centers / dates in Iraq.

To register for iBT TOEFL for one of the Iraq test centers please visit our office in Erbil. Registration is every day of the work week (Sunday-Thursday) from 8am to 2:30pm. The office is located in the Ainkawa Neighborhood close to Ashtar TV, near Mar-Youhannah church, mobile 0770 645 2275.

Test-takers will need to review and sign the local registration student agreement, complete a paper registration form, and pay a total of $250 U.S. dollars ($190 for the original test fee and $60 for the local registration service that AMIDEAST provides to the test-taker).
ONLINE REGISTRATION: You may also register online, To register online, please visit www.toefl.org .You must have an internationally valid credit or visa card number with a sum of US$190 and a valid mailing address as well to get your official paper score report.
The score reports will be available in approximately one month (if you register with AMIDEAST), and AMIDEAST will notify the test taker when the score reports are received.
Please keep in mind that test dates are not fixed, ETS updates them on a daily basis, i.e. they are changeable.

The registration fees: $250 ($190 original test fee plus $60 for the local registration service that AMIDEAST provides to the test-taker). ABOUT OUR TEST PREPARATION COURSES
AMIDEAST offers a series of test preparation courses designed specifically for students and professionals who are planning to take standardized tests.
iBT TOEFL® & ITP TOEFL® Test Preparation
The iBT course prepares students to take the internet-based TOEFL® test, which is an entrance requirement for students who want to study abroad in the U.S. The ITP TOEFL® course prepares students to take the paper-based test, which is used for academic placement, progress evaluation, and exit testing by some local universities and colleges. It is always advisable to check with your university which test is required before registering for either course.
Both are 15-hour, intensive courses through which students develop their academic skills in English while building their confidence and developing exam techniques and test taking strategies. Through integrated skills practice, students will:
- Become familiar with exam structure and format;
- Develop critical thinking and communicative competence;
- Develop academic skills in English;
- Develop the four main skills tested: listening/speaking/reading/writing;
- Review material and do practice tests.

SAT® 1 Test Preparation
The SAT® Test Preparation Course consists of 36 hours of instruction and covers all three areas tested on the SAT 1 exam, Critical Reading, Writing and Math. The program is designed to provide students with practical tips, strategies and techniques on how to tackle the SAT test questions, as well as to provide practice exercises to improve and sharpen their skills. Through practice, students will:
- Develop reading skills and vocabulary ;
- Develop writing skills;
- Develop critical reasoning skills ;
- Practice math – arithmetic, geometry and algebra;
- Review material and do practice tests.
Admission to our SAT Test Preparation class is dependent upon adequate English language proficiency and familiarity with the following math topics:
- Algebra 1 (Basic)
- Algebra 2 (Intermediate)
- Geometry
- Data analysis, statistics, probability and problem solving
It is therefore recommended that all candidates for the SAT class are in Grade 11 or above.

GMAT®& GRE® Test Preparation
The 36-hour GMAT and GRE test preparation courses are designed to familiarize students with the format and modes of questioning on the GMAT and GRE tests. The courses review key verbal, math, and analytical concepts typically included on the tests, introduce students to useful test-taking strategies, and include work on practice questions with classroom analysis and discussion.
Both GMAT and GRE courses consist of two components, 18 hours English and 18 hours math.
Admission to either program is dependent upon the following AMIDEAST placement test scores:
- 85% on the English placement test, or TOEFL score of 500+;
- 75% on the math placement test.
In order to ensure participants meet the proficiency requirements for our test preparation courses, they must first take a placement test. No test is required for students joining our SAT course.

TOEFL - iBT
What is the TOEFL?
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) evaluates the English proficiency of people whose native language is not English. Most U.S. universities require that international applicants take the TOEFL. Generally a score of 61 to 100 on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) or 500 to 600 on the paper-based version is required for admission to undergraduate and graduate programs in the United States, with graduate schools expecting the higher scores.
TOEFL iBT is a four-hour test with content to assess reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills.

Where and when can I take the TOEFL?
The TOEFL exam is administered in an Internet-based format at AMIDEAST/Jordan. Tests are held approximately every two weeks, depending on demand, and are scheduled by appointment. Be sure to register early as test centers can fill quickly.
How do I register to take the TOEFL in UAE?
You may register directly with ETS or for a small additional fee you may register in person at AMIDEAST/Jordan. You may pay in local currency at AMIDEAST/Jordan but you still need to meet the registration deadlines and complete a TOEFL registration form.
How do I prepare for the TOEFL?
It is important for you to be familiar with the kinds of questions asked on the TOEFL. There are several ways to prepare.
- Visit the TOEFL Web site to see sample questions and tests
- Take a test preparation class at AMIDEAST
What do I do on the day of the test?
- Arrive at AMIDEAST 30 minutes before the assigned test time. Check-in procedures take time. If you arrive late, you may not be admitted to the test, and you will forfeit your test fees.
- Bring photo bearing identification, as described in the TOEFL registration bulletin.
- Bring your test confirmation information.
What about my scores?
If you need score reports to be sent to additional institutions, please complete the form in the TOEFL bulletin and return it with payment to ETS. If paying by credit card, you may also call ETS at (609) 771-7267 to order additional score reports. Scores are valid for two years.Your official scores will be mailed from the United States about four weeks after the test. Please allow time for them to arrive by international mail.
Questions about any missing score reports should be directed to Educational Testing Service (ETS), the nonprofit organization that develops TOEFL and issues score reports. An e-mail sent to the ETS customer service address—toefl@ets.org—usually will receive a response in five to seven days. Test takers should wait at least eight weeks before contacting ETS about score reports. Score report problems are best avoided by careful preparation of the registration form: writing name and mailing address clearly and following payment procedures detailed in the TOEFL bulletin.
